Better World Video Awards 2025: Dogs on the Streets

30 September 2025
2 minutes

Discover more about how Dogs on the Streets are providing care for street dogs across the UK

Dog care has always been of huge importance to Dogs on the Streets founder Michelle. Through her other homeless outreach projects, she has become known as someone who likes to support the street dogs that so many of our homeless friends have as pets.

Originally, Michelle started providing essentials for street dogs over five years ago, raising awareness and collecting donations via her original Twitter account @donatesox/@otslondon.

Check out our other Better World Video Award entrants…

  • Better World Video Awards 2025: Together for Life
  • Better World Video Awards 2025: Alladale Wilderness Reserve
  • Better World Video Awards 2025: Saving Danes Moss
  • Better World Video Awards 2025: Dancing With Trees
  • Better World Video Awards 2025 – Limbo

The true inspiration for Dogs on the Streets came in the waggy-tailed shape of a very special street dog called Poppy who changed Michelle’s life forever. Poppy’s homeless dad was taken ill, and having heard about Michelle’s work made contact to see if she could help with Poppy’s welfare while he moved into accommodation to try and better his health.

Michelle took Poppy on, welcoming her into her family like one of her own. It was this bondformed with Poppy that sparked the desire in Michelle to do even more than she was for the homeless doggy owning community.

Dogs on the Streets’ video has been entered into the group category of the 2025 Better World Video Awards. Find out more about how you can enter here. The individual category prize this year is a 7-night stay in Chiang Mai, courtesy of our partner, Aggressor Adventures; while our group winner will receive a £3,000 advertising package with Geographical.
