Better World Video Awards 2025: Spirit of the Forest

30 September 2025
2 minutes

Head to the Făgăraș Mountains in Romania and discover how the historic forests there are being protected for decades to come

Spirit of the Forest is a poignant documentary that transports viewers to the heart of the Făgăraș Mountains in Romania, where ancient beech forests have stood for centuries, untouched by time.

This captivating film highlights the deep connection between nature and the local community, centered around the Forest of Immortal Stories project. The documentary chronicles the efforts of the local Mayor, Ion Cojocaru, who, after the loss of his wife, found solace in the peaceful forest and decided to protect these historic trees for future generations.
