Discover more about Beyond Conflict’s work in supporting the mental health of children and young people experiencing war trauma across the world
As the world faces numerous – and devastating – conflicts, tens of millions of children and young people each year are being impacted by war trauma with significant impacts to their mental wellbeing. Today, 460 million children are living in – or fleeing – a war zone, and one in five will develop a serious mental health condition as a result.
Impacts range from disturbed sleep, insomnia and mood swings to limited communication skills and panic attacks. Unless treated, its damage passes from generation to generation.

Beyond Conflict, the mental health charity for victims of war, was founded in 2018 to end this cycle. They provide mental health support to children, young people and anyone suffering from the lingering effects of war trauma.
In Gaza, Beyond Conflict is supporting the Gaza Community Mental Health Programme. Back in September, the mental health hospital there was bombed by the IDF, with just 15 minutes notice to evacuate. Still, medical personnel are providing psychological support to countless people in Gaza. Other similar projects are being run in Ukraine.
The film, Echoes of Hope, reflects Beyond Conflict’s mission: to break the silence, reduce stigma, and ensure survivors around the world receive the compassion and help they need.
