Better World Video Awards 2025: Linda’s Story

28 May 2025
2 minutes

Linda’s story of violence, cruelty and exploitation spans more than 20 years. In a powerful short film, she bravely shares her experience

Linda’s story is one of extraordinary resilience. Beginning as a young teacher in her home country, Linda bravely exposed abuse affecting schoolchildren and women. Her activism led to relentless persecution, including torture and threats to her family. Fleeing for safety, Linda faced further trauma, including kidnapping and drugging.

After escaping to the UK and seeking asylum, Linda was betrayed by someone she trusted, leading to further abuse, and she eventually became homeless. Her turning point came when she found refuge at Ella’s, a safe house offering support to survivors of trafficking and exploitation. There, Linda began her path to healing, expressing immense gratitude for the sanctuary and support she received.

Linda’s experience has been brought to life in a powerful short film, aiming to raise awareness about the realities of trafficking and the importance of support systems like Ella’s. The film not only highlights Linda’s courage but also serves as a beacon of hope for others in similar situations.

‘Linda’s Story’ has been entered into the 2025 Better World Video Awards.

Mother" is a word that needs no separate definition. The word "mother" is formed with the pronunciation "m" which is present in all languages like Maa/Amma etc. Even in the sound of various animals calling their mother, the influence of "M" can be seen. Nature's own part is this "Mother" race. So perhaps such is the similarity of these words. In this picture, two mothers are holding by their hand and protecting their child. Mother nature and jungle cat mother.
