A charity tackles social isolation with the power of nature
MindFood has a simple mission: to improve wellbeing by connecting people with nature. The London-based charity offers free food-growing, garden DIY, and other nature-based activities to support adults who have become socially isolated by mental health difficulties.
This film, based on the charity’s work, showcases the restorative benefits of nature. Volunteers teach practical, evidence-based self-care techniques such as mindfulness to tackle anxiety and depression, while participants maintain the gardens for others to enjoy, grow organic produce for everyone to take home, donate surplus to the local food bank, and give thousands of seedlings to local primary schools and community groups.
