Bringing generations together to enact real change
Created and produced by InCommon’s intergenerational social action group in Bow, East London, this film showcases the coming together of a group of students from Spotlight Youth Centre (Langdon Park School) and their older neighbours at Gawthorne Court (a retirement scheme).
The group met once a month for a year to create and develop a social action campaign that mattered to them and would make a difference to their community. The result was the cost of living campaign, #RaiseOurVoicesLowerThePrices, which shined a light on the cost of living crisis and encouraged those in power (including Jeremy Hunt!) to lower the prices. This film was created by the group to raise awareness of the issue and encourage people to support those that are struggling.
This film has been entered in the MPB Geographical Better World Video Awards. See all the entries and the winners.
