How one woman’s passion for tidying up her local community has had a transformative impact

Plan for Peace works closely with community changemakers across the UK to build locally-led community infrastructures through its Changemakers in Turbulent Times programme.

This is the story of Tirza Meinema – changemaker and community hero. A few years ago, Tirza started picking up litter in her local neighbourhood. Now, she has built a thriving community across Slough who are passionate about tackling unnecessary waste. From launching second-hand markets to running an upcycled fashion show, and supported by a Plan for Peace seed grant, Tirza is tirelessly committed to being the change she wants to see in Slough.

This film has been entered in the MPB Geographical Better World Video Awards. See all the entries and the winners.
