Accredited by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), this Geography degree has been designed for students who enjoy the different traditions in geography. It incorporates major elements of physical and human geography, and some geographical information systems (GIS).
Our Geography degree emphasises issues that shape people and places in a global society. You'll investigate critical issues that are challenging the 21st century, from the local to global scale and analyse the relationship between human and non-human environments, and how to sustain their delicate balance.
You'll explore how the environment affects society, its economy and culture, and in turn, how we adapt and transform that environment.

Small, friendly classes
Our students love the fact that our Geography courses here at USW are made up of smaller classes, meaning you get greater support throughout your studies and really get to know your lecturers.
What better place to study Geography than on the edge of rural and urban environments? We’re within close proximity to the thriving capital city of Cardiff, the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. We make full use of these locations for regular fieldwork opportunities.
Our Geography courses focus on skills and employability, and the MGeog course even has the PRINCE qualification embedded within the course.
