Dragoman Overland

A proud overlanding heritage

GeoTravelPartnerDragoman has a proud history, standing at the forefront of the overlanding industry for nearly 40 years. We visit 55 different countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas.

What is overlanding?

Overlanding with Dragoman is all about taking the road less travelled and getting away from the tourist trail. Our mantra is ‘It’s the journey, not just the destination’.

Travelling in one of our purpose-built overland trucks, as well as seeing the highlights, you’ll get off the beaten track and into the heart of the country you’re visiting. Whether staying in a traditional Quechua village in Peru, wild camping in the desert near Sudan’s Meroe Pyramids, or practicing your salsa steps in a steamy bar in Colombia, we’ll take you beyond the tourist infrastructure for the adventure of a lifetime.

Many of our overland trips are a convenient 14-21 days, providing a great snapshot of a country or region. These short trips can also be combined to create epic journeys lasting up to 235 days. You could travel with us from Anchorage to Ushuaia, taking in the National Parks and mountain treks of the Americas; from Istanbul to Beijing, following in the footsteps of Marco Polo along the Silk Road; or from Cairo to Cape Town, seeing the many faces of Africa.

Small Group Tours

Travelling overland is all about sharing a unique experience with like-minded people. Your fellow passengers are as much a part of the adventure as the destinations you’re visiting. Our groups are usually made up of people from many different ages and backgrounds, but all share one thing in common: an open-minded attitude to the world around them. The people you share your adventure with can often go on to become life-long friends.

Purpose-Built Overland Trucks

Every truck in Dragoman’s fleet is fully equipped for self-sufficient wild camping, with comfortable coach-style seating. We use rugged and sturdy Mercedes-Benz trucks, known for their durability, which will take you off road and off the beaten track. They are specially modified at our Suffolk workshop into our custom-designed overland vehicles, and with their distinctive orange and white livery and their personalised names, they have become quite iconic and are recognised around the world!

Our Overland Crew

Our crew undergo up to ten weeks intense training at our headquarters in Suffolk, UK before going out on the road – the most comprehensive training in the overland industry. Our trucks operate with at least two crew members, and we often meet up with local guides along the way. Our tour leaders are all passionate about travelling, and will ensure your journey is both safe and enjoyable.
